The Enzo Fernandez transfer saga has continued into the final two weeks of the window, with Chelsea fans worried he really doesn’t want to be at the club anymore.
After trying to force through a move to Real Madrid, Fernandez’s best bet of a move away from Stamford Bridge is to Manchester City to join up with Enzo Maresca again.
The Argentine was greeted by boos when he was subbed on by Xabi Alonso in Chelsea’s final pre-season friendly against Bayer Leverkusen, with supporters not best pleased at his public desire to leave.

Chelsea fans concerned as Enzo Fernandez training picture emerges
Fernandez was part of the winning team in Tuesday’s training game, with Levi Colwill posting a photo of the victorious side on his Instagram story.
In the image, Fernandez is the only player not showing any emotion, crossing his arms while the likes of Cole Palmer were all smiles.

Chelsea fans took to social media to share their fear that he may have completely lost the desire to feature at Stamford Bridge this season.
One user said: “He’s not laughing and I’m very worried.”
Another added: “Honestly just leave! Don’t bother showing up at training or wearing our colours when he clearly doesn’t want to be there.”
A third simply stated: “He’s checked out.”
Finally, one user claimed: “He’s not happy and wants to leave…”

Chelsea had set a deadline of 5pm on Friday to receive a bid for Fernandez, or in their words they were prepared to continue with him in their first team squad.
This was likely to allow them suitable time to sign a replacement for the World Cup winner before the transfer window closes, with Adam Wharton and Alex Scott both linked.
Despite the club’s deadline, City’s interest has seemingly not come to an end, and following the departure of Rodri they are on the lookout for a new starting midfielder.
With Maresca facing a tough job replacing Pep Guardiola, he could use all the help he can get, and a familiar face in Fernandez on paper looks the perfect addition for them.
