Liverpool will open its Premier League campaign away at Newcastle this weekend before returning to Anfield a week later to face Nottingham Forest in its first home fixture.
And with the September 1 transfer deadline fast approaching, it is also a crucial period for Liverpool in the summer window.
After he arrived from Bournemouth to replace Arne Slot, Andoni Iraola's side still has plenty of work to do, with reinforcements required while the club also looks to offload players. Victor Munoz has already arrived, while Ronald Araujo has joined on loan, but the Spaniard remains in need of further additions.
Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye are both of interest, with the former, in particular, a major target, while Liverpool is also continuing to assess potential departures.
Curtis Jones and Federico Chiesa are among those to have interest from elsewhere, as the Reds remain active on both the incoming and outgoing fronts. Stick around for all the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumors for another important day of action, as the new season edges ever closer.
Liverpool midfielder James McConnell had looked likely to move to Preston on loan, but that deal has been put on hold, the Liverpool ECHO reports.
Andoni Iraola may need to call upon the 21-year-old in the first half of the season. He is more stylistically suited to the Spaniard's tactics than Wataru Endo, while there remains a question about Curtis Jones' future.

Former Liverpool man Neil Ruddock says Bradley Barcola would love playing at Anfield amid speculation that Arsenal could join the race for the PSG man.
"With Arsenal coming off a league title, their pulling power is huge right now," Ruddock told iGaming.
"A year ago, Liverpool would have been the clear first choice, but winning the league puts Arsenal ahead in the queue.
"Liverpool is the greatest and most famous football institution in the world. Walking out at a packed Anfield every single week is the ultimate experience in football.
"Get yourself to Liverpool and be adored by the Kop — don't waste your career going down to Arsenal!
"I was fortunate enough to play in front of a full Anfield — there is no finer arena in world football.
"If you ask nine out of 10 professional footballers, their favourite away ground is Anfield. Playing there week in, week out is special."

It looked like Darwin Nunez was set for a reunion with Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor, but Sacha Tovalieri reports that there has been a change of plan.
During the final day of Al Hilal's training camp in Austria, Nunez was left out of the squad. He was due to travel to Turkiye the following day to complete a loan move to Trabzonspor.
However, fellow Saudi Pro League side Al Diriyah hijacked the move after opening talks with Al Hilal and making a proposal to sign Nunez on loan. That now looks set to be his destination.

Nothing is agreed yet, but Bradley Barcola remains a key target for Liverpool. Ibrahim Mbaye is under consideration too, though claims of that being close to completion are currently premature.
If Richard Hughes can get both deals over the line, that would put the Reds in a good place ahead of the new campaign. There is not much more than a week left in which to do the business, however.
