James Pearce drops significant Liverpool exit news;"exceptional"ace could make debut this week

**Liverpool youngster Kieran Morrison could make his debut for Sheffield Wednesday as early as Thursday, with James Pearce saying a loan move is almost done.**

The 19-year-old is a player with a lot of potential, having become one of the stars at the Reds’ academy and being lauded by Under-21s manager [Rob Page](https://www.empireofthekop.com/2026/03/03/rob-page-wowed-by-exceptional-morrison-moment-in-liverpool-u21-win/) last season:

_“You see him work hard in training. Giving him the armband has given him another lift as well. We’ve given him that responsibility, and he’s absolutely shining with it. The right foot goal for me was exceptional. He’s so quick off the first two yards, and the power he gets, that’s his wrong foot. It’s not his preferred foot, but he practices in training, so it’s no surprise when he produces moments like that because he works so hard through the week.”_

It makes sense for Morrison to now be loaned out this season, in order to grow as a player, and [Pearce](https://x.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/2089797842206416923?s=20) has now further talked up an imminent move and debut for Wednesday happening this week, ahead of their clash with Bradford City on Thursday:

_“Kieran Morrison to Sheffield Wednesday on loan set to go ahead. Could even make his debut against Bradford City on Thursday.”_

**An ideal 2026/27 loan move for Kieran Morrison**

This looks like a great move for Morrison, with Wednesday plying their trade in League One and standing out as not only possibly the biggest club in the division, but also one of the favourites to earn promotion to the Championship.

The teenager should be playing in a team that dominates plenty of matches, allowing him to showcase his quality in attack, either out on the right wing cutting onto his left foot, or potentially in a No.10 role.

Morrison will only benefit from a season of senior football, and while there is no guarantee that he will make it at Liverpool in the long-term, a switch to the Owls will only stand him in good stead for the future.

It will be interesting to see how the highly-rated attacker fares over the next nine months, before returning to Anfield as a more rounded footballer next summer.
