**[Everton](https://ReadEverton.com) are closely following Marseille forward Amine Gouiri as David Moyes continues to look for attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes.**
The 26-year-old Algeria international has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, with Marseille potentially facing a decision over his future in the closing stages of the summer market.
According to _L’Équipe,_ via Get French Football News, Everton are among the clubs keeping a close watch on Gouiri’s situation.
Marseille would prefer to retain the forward, but are expecting offers to arrive before the deadline. Atletico Madrid and Villarreal have Gouiri on their respective shortlists, while Como are also interested and Lazio have enquired.
Gouiri joined Marseille from Rennes in January 2025 and has since scored 21 goals in 42 appearances for the French club.
Capable of playing through the middle or from the left, he would give Everton another option across the forward line rather than simply providing competition in one position.
That versatility makes the reported interest understandable as Everton assess their remaining business.
There is, however, an important distinction at this stage. L’Équipe’s report describes Everton as ‘closely following’ Gouiri rather than having submitted an offer, and Marseille manager Bruno Genesio is understood to want to keep him.
The situation could therefore depend on whether that interest develops into something more concrete before the deadline.
With Atletico, Villarreal, Como and Lazio also monitoring developments, Everton would be entering a competitive market if they decide to make their move.
