Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola looks on during Premier League match
Inter Milan have reached an agreement to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones for €35 million (£30 million), according to Fabrizio Romano.
Jones spent last season on the periphery of Arne Slot's squad at Anfield, starting just 18 Premier League games for the Dutch manager. This has prompted the player and his representatives to explore potential moves, and Inter have subsequently emerged as the team to pry him away from his boyhood club.
A verbal agreement has been reached between the two clubs, although a consensus on personal terms is yet to be reached.
However, the deal is expected to materialise, with a medical for the player being planned.
Jones will leave Liverpool having made 228 appearances for the Merseysiders, winning two Premier League titles in the process.
Curtis Jones Will Be a Big Loss For Liverpool
Curtis Jones
Jones burst through into the Liverpool first team in the 2019/20 season and has since been an ever-present figure in their squad. The expectation was that he'd eventually establish himself as an indispensable figure in the Reds' starting eleven, although this has never quite materialised.
Spending six seasons as a rotation player in a number of successful teams, Jones is now on the cusp of leaving Liverpool after 16 years on their books.
He'll join an Inter Milan side with aspirations of reaching the latter stages of the Champions League once again, and will join up with fellow England international Djed Spence at the San Siro.

Fees correct prior to summer 2026
A fee of around £30 million has been agreed, and while this will represent pure profit for Liverpool as he's developed through their academy, they'll likely feel this figure doesn't compensate for the loss.
While not a guaranteed starter, Jones was a valuable squad member who provided genuine cover and competition for the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. Without him, they'll be left somewhat short in this position, exacerbating their issue of a lack of depth throughout Andoni Iraola's squad.

If one of Szoboszlai, Mac Allister or Gravenberch sustains a serious injury at any point next season, the Reds will certainly regret sanctioning Jones' departure for such a minimal fee.
