Aston Villa are preparing for life without Ezri Konsa and have identified Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo as a potential replacement.
Konsa is set to join Arsenal for around £51 million, and Villa manager Unai Emery has options in mind to replace the 28-year-old England international.
Tosin is an option for the Midlands club, with Chelsea ready to listen to offers for the 28-year-old.
However, Villa will face competition from Marseille, Benfica and Sevilla for the Englishman.
While Marseille have made initial contact with Chelsea over a deal, remaining in the Premier League could be more appealing to Tosin.
The Villans are playing in the Champions League this season, and the opportunity to play in the elite European competition could tempt the Englishman.
He played 29 games across all competitions for the Blues last term and was tipped for a big role under new Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso.
The Villa target played regularly in pre-season under the Spaniard up until the game against Real Sociedad last weekend – when he was not in the squad.
Tosin will fancy his chances of walking into the Villa starting line-up as Konsa’s like-for-like replacement.
The former Fulham star has played over 100 Premier League games and brings the experience Emery wants in a centre-back.
The 6ft 5in Chelsea star is comfortable with playing out from the back, can pass well and is an aerial threat.
He is a perfect replacement for Konsa but Villa have yet to make a decision and could still decide to go for another defender.
