Calvin Ramsay is attracting interest in a loan move before the transfer window closes, but Liverpool are biding their time before decisions over two others.
Ramsay is wanted by Scottish club St Mirren after it was made clear he is unlikely to feature heavily in Andoni Iraola‘s plans.
The 23-year-old, who is not eligible as a homegrown player in the Premier League, would almost certainly need to be cut from Liverpool’s squad if they are to make further signings this month.
That has opened up an opportunity for St Mirren, with the Times‘ Paul Joyce reporting on interest from north of the border.
A Scotland international, Ramsay came through the academy at Aberdeen and made 39 first-team appearances before joining Liverpool in 2022, with a brief stint back in his native country with Kilmarnock in 2025.
He has been a regular throughout pre-season under Iraola, but the new head coach has preferred Jeremie Frimpong as first-choice right-back.
That saw Frimpong play the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Como at Anfield on Sunday, while Ramsay was instead involved as part of a fringe side held to a 0-0 draw behind closed doors.
With Joe Gomez and loan signing Ronald Araujo also able to play right-back and Conor Bradley expected to step up his return from a serious knee injury, Ramsay is almost certain to leave.
His contract runs to 2027 and if he were to depart on loan rather than on a permanent deal, Liverpool would first look to tie him down to extended terms.

Liverpool are set to be particularly busy over the next fortnight, not least with a number of players being lined up for loan moves.
This Is Anfield understands Kieran Morrison has undergone a medical with League One side Sheffield Wednesday ahead of a season-long switch.
However, proposed deals for James McConnell and Luke Chambers are being put on hold for now while Iraola and the club’s recruitment team consider whether to keep them as part of the wider first-team squad.

Preston are among the clubs pursuing McConnell, but with Curtis Jones due to join Inter Milan it is possible that he stays.
Chambers is attracting interest from Blackburn and Portsmouth, but QPR head coach Julien Stephan has now ruled them out of the running.
Lewis Koumas is another who could stay at Liverpool, but the likes of Keyrol Figueroa, Wellity Lucky and Isaac Mabaya are expected to gain experience elsewhere.
