Anthony Gordon will make his first appearance at the Camp Nou for Barcelona against Al-Ahly tonight.
Anthony Gordon has insisted he “cannot wait” to don the famous Barcelona jersey at the Camp Nou for the first time.
Newcastle United acted quickly to sell the winger once the Premier League season ended. Gordon starred for England at the World Cup and made his Barca debut in Switzerland against FC Basel at the weekend.
Four days before the La Liga campaign kicks off, the former Toon ace will play in front of a home crowd when Egyptian outfit Al-Ahly travel to the Camp Nou tonight. In a message to Barcelona fans, Gordon declared his excitement while insisting his new teammates are prepared for the season ahead.

“I can't wait, I'm so excited to see the stadium, to wear the Barca kit in the stadium… spend time with fans (and) see them for the first time, hopefully score a goal, win a game, everything,” he said. “When you play for Barcelona we only focus on us and what we can do, the way we want to play, we have a style that never changes.
“So we just try and win this way and in the best way possible. Of course, I think we work really hard every day to be ready. Players are coming in at different stages, but it's no problem. Everyone is fit, everyone is a top player, so we know what it takes to be ready for the first game - and we will be.”

Gordon also thanked the Barca fans for their support while promising to do his best to deliver silverware. He added: “It's been an amazing first week, I've loved every minute. It's new for me. It's a new city, new country, obviously new teammates, new staff, but it's been an amazing experience, everybody has made me feel so welcome.
“The guys are so nice, so friendly, and the coach's idea I knew before, that's why I wanted to come here also, because I like this style of play. Thank you for everything you've done for me so far, all the love and support, I hope to repay you with a lot of goals and a lot of trophies.”
