Chelsea fans will have noticed a number of different changes after the Blues squad numbers were confirmed for the 2026-27 season.
Chelsea have splashed out over £250 million this summer, led by a £117m deal for Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. They’ve also brought in defender Maxence Lacroix (£51m), wing-back Marco Palestra (£43m), Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, and Valentin Barco, alongside veteran free agents Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck.
On the way out, Marc Cucurella joined Real Madrid, Andrey Santos went to Manchester United, and Alejandro Garnacho left on loan.
However, the squad remains bloated. Out-of-favour players like Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, Axel Disasi, David Datro Fofana, and Tosin Adarabioyo are still on the books and need moves before the deadline.

Chelsea announce 2026-2027 squad numbers
The wait is over for the 2026/27 Chelsea squad numbers, as fans can now head to the club shop to get their favourite name on the back of their shirt.
Chelsea announced the shirt numbers on their official website, with Delap, Adarabioyo, Mykhailo Mudryk and a number of other players changing numbers.
Robert Sanchez keeps the No. 1 shirt, while defensive options include Marco Palestra taking No. 2, Wesley Fofana moving to No. 3, new signing Valentin Barco taking No. 4, Maxence Lacroix at No. 5, and Levi Colwill continuing as No. 6.
In midfield and attack, Pedro Neto retains No. 7, Enzo Fernandez keeps No. 8, Joao Pedro takes the No. 9 shirt, and main man Cole Palmer leads as No. 10. They are complemented by Jamie Gittens (No. 11), Liam Delap (No. 12), experienced signing Jordan Henderson (No. 14), Nicolas Jackson (No. 15), Dario Essugo (No. 16), new arrival Morgan Rogers (No. 17), and veteran striker Danny Welbeck wearing No. 18.
Further down the squad, Mamadou Sarr claims No. 19, Jorrel Hato takes No. 21, Emmanuel Emegha is No. 22, and young talent Geovany Quenda wears No. 23. Captain Reece James retains No. 24, Moises Caicedo stays with No. 25, Malo Gusto remains No. 27, and goalkeeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe takes No. 28. Pep Chavarria (No. 29), Aaron Anselmino (No. 30), Reggie Watson (No. 31), Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli (No. 32), and Mykhailo Mudryk (No. 33) fill the lower 30s.
Rounding out, young defender Josh Acheampong is assigned No. 34, Tayo Subuloye takes No. 37, and Tosin Adarabioyo moves to No. 38. The remaining shirts are held by goalkeeper Mike Penders (No. 39), Brazilian prodigy Estevao Willian (No. 41), goalkeeper Gaga Slonina (No. 44), and Romeo Lavia taking No. 45.
