Liverpool's transfer business is set to ramp up in the final two weeks of the market, with the hunt for a winger remaining the most prominent task for the recruitment team.

The Reds have already added one forward option to the side, with the signing of Victor Munoz, but as many as two new arrivals out wide could happen before the window closes.

Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola is one possible signing, as Liverpool ramps up talks with the French club to land the forward for a huge fee.

So too is another PSG star, Ibrahim Mbaye, who has been rumored with interest from the Merseyside outfit after it became clear that he would be available in the market.

So, with that said, here's a look at the latest developments surrounding Mbaye's potential move to Liverpool in recent days.

After showing interest in Mbaye this summer, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool has held talks with his agent about a potential move.

The main sticking point for the Reds, however, remains the valuation set by PSG, with a huge fee required to land both Mbaye and Barcola before the transfer window closes.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: "Liverpool spoke to the agent of the player [Mbaye], Jorge Mendes. They had a conversation, and the player is very attracted by Liverpool.

"At the moment, the problem for Liverpool is the valuation. PSG are asking for a lot of money for Mbaye. Either the valuation comes down, or they can find an agreement with Barcola and Mbaye - but Liverpool are not going to pay £200 million [$272.2 million] for both."

It suggests some enthusiasm on the part of the player, and some interest from Liverpool, but a clear line that must be drawn when it comes to the valuation being set.

While that interest is there, the Daily Mail reports that Liverpool is unlikely to push for a deal to land Mbaye in the final two weeks of the transfer window.

It's claimed that the discussions over a move have been exploratory up until this point, while the club will now push on with a move to sign Barcola in the coming days.

It's unclear whether a move could be revisited, but it may well end Liverpool's pursuit of the winger, leaving plenty of questions over the remaining business in the market.

Most notably on the right wing, where there are a lack of options, as well as uncertainty over the future of Cody Gakpo, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent weeks.
