Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye. Mbaye is regarded as one of French football’s brightest young talents after progressing through PSG’s academy and making his senior debut in 2024.
The 18-year-old winger has since made 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing four assists.

Liverpool have closely monitored Mbaye’s development and appear to have made significant progress in their efforts to bring the teenager to Anfield.
However, according to the Daily Mail’s Simon Jones, Andoni Iraola’s side are unlikely to pursue their interest in Mbaye, with their interest having been exploratory to date.
Jones posted on X: “As it stands Liverpool are unlikely to pursue their interest in Ibrahim Mbaye at Paris Saint-Germain, which has not been anything more than exploratory to date.”
Bayer Leverkusen had also been pursuing a deal for Mbaye, but the Senegal international is reportedly keen on a move to Liverpool. He is under contract with PSG until June 2028.
Mbaye and fellow Liverpool target Bradley Barcola were both left out of PSG’s squad for their Trophee des Champions defeat to Lens last weekend. Luis Enrique suggested there is still plenty of time for unhappy players to leave the club this summer.
“We are a very young, very ambitious team,” Enrique told reporters. “It is important for us to make changes and look for players who enjoy playing our way and who love playing for PSG.
“That is very clear to us. When a player doesn’t want to come here, or doesn’t have a smile on their face about being here, it is better to find another solution.”
Liverpool have had a relatively quiet summer transfer window since Andoni Iraola’s arrival as head coach, signing Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo after agreeing a deal for Jeremy Jacquet in February.
Meanwhile, Curtis Jones, Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa could all follow Mohamed Salah and Ibrahima Konate out of Anfield before next month’s transfer deadline.
