Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford has thanked Jamie Carragher after the former Liverpool star tried to defend the forward from questioning by Gary Neville.
It comes as the England international makes his return to Old Trafford, following a turbulent few campaigns with the Red Devils and doubts over his future at the club.
It followed a disagreement with Ruben Amorim, with the then-Man United coach deciding to axe Rashford, leading to his loan switch to Aston Villa in the winter 2025 transfer window. A successful half-season followed, though it was cut short by injury, before he made another loan move, this time to Spanish giants Barcelona.
The 28-year-old impressed in that spell, becoming a very dependable squad player with 14 goals and 15 assists to his name across all competitions, but it still wasn't enough to secure a return to the club on a permanent basis.
Instead, Barcelona signed Anthony Gordon for the left flank, leaving Rashford in limbo, before he eventually returned to Man United for preseason training and the possibility of featuring in the season ahead.

Questions still remain over his place in the team, which Neville wanted to dig into in his podcast, Stick To Football, as he said: "Oh, Marcus Rashford, what do we think?"
Carragher moved to defend the star, as well as former Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold, by suggesting that the pair should be left alone in their discussions.
He responded: "Oh f*****. Can we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford? Stop it. Oh my God! It's like the Trent and Rashford; there's always a little part of the podcast, the Trent part, or the Rashford part."
Neville tried to continue the discussion, stating: "He's come back to [Manchester] United," but Carragher wasn't amused, responding: "So what? Oh my god. He's just a good player for Man United who got ****."
That segment was picked up by Rashford himself, who took to social media to thank Carragher, responding: "Thanks, Jamie. It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day."
It's clearly something that is appreciated by the England star, who has attracted plenty of media coverage, perhaps unfairly at times, ever since he made his way into the spotlight.
That may not stop discussions surrounding him, with uncertainty still surrounding his future at Man United in the final two weeks of the transfer window, but there is a chance for him to hit back on the pitch with his performances around the corner.
