NBA advertising climbed to $2.11 billion after wider TV exposure, while the five-game Knicks Finals generated $256 million in ads.
The [NBA’s](https://clutchpoints.com/nba) $76 billion media era has created a larger advertising business. Prime Video, ESPN and NBC [collectively generated](https://awfulannouncing.com/nba/ad-sales-skyrocket-580m-first-year-new-media-deals.html) $2.11 billion from game inventory in 2025-26, according to Sportico’s Anthony Crupi, per AwfulAnnouncing.
That represented a $580 million gain and a 38% increase over the previous season. More national exposure helped unlock it. The league moved from 172 nationally televised windows to 247, while its broadcast-network schedule climbed from 24 games to 62.
Regular-season advertising supplied $870 million, 74% above the prior campaign’s $500 million. Postseason sales reached $988 million, marking a 27% increase.

A longer Knicks-Spurs matchup could have created a larger windfall. Instead, the quick finish contributed to a more complicated result for ESPN.
Although combined sales surged across all three partners, ESPN brought in $47.6 million less than it had during the previous media structure. The network now shares national NBA programming with two other companies rather than one, reducing its available inventory.
The audience still moved in a favorable direction. Regular-season games averaged 1.78 million viewers, a 16% improvement, as NBC and ABC combined to show 62 contests over the air.
That presence will grow again, with 71 games headed to NBC or ABC next season. The second year should offer a cleaner comparison, but the opening results show why broader NBA access carries substantial advertising value.
