Lakers officially head to Slovenia for Luka Doncic minicamp

The Los Angeles Lakers now have their wheels in motion as they head to Slovenia to join Luka Doncic.

On social media, the Lakers roster was seen departing Los Angeles with their packed belongings, looking forward to the upcoming team minicamp hosted by the Slovenian superstar in his home country.

From Austin Reaves, Jarred Vanderbilt, and several other Laker newcomers like Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton, each one appears fully excited for the upcoming special event.

Luka Doncic to host new-look Lakers' Slovenia minicamp

Behind the full efforts and initiatives of Luka Doncic, Los Angeles Lakers players will travel to Slovenia for a four-day minicamp from Aug. 20 to Aug. 24.

The special team trip is expected to include basketball workouts, golf activities, sightseeing around Ljubljana, and other team-building events.

According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, the team-building experience that Doncic will bring to his Lakers teammates is luxurious. Doncic is chartering a private plane for all of them and has organized a number of great activities.

The trip will specifically feature gift-giving of bags filled with Slovenian items, dinner at one of Doncic’s favorite restaurants, fishing at Lake Bled, golf, and other activities designed to bring the team closer together.

Ahead of a highly anticipated 2026-27 NBA season, this serves as an early team hangout for the new-look Lakers after a dramatic offseason filled with changes and developments. With Doncic now at the center of the Lakers after LeBron James' free-agency exit, LA is set to embrace a new era for the franchise with the superstar leading the way.
