Stephen Warnock makes exciting claim about“imminent”transfer for PSG’s Bradley Barcola

**Liverpool and PSG are hopefully going to wrap up a deal for Bradley Barcola soon, with the Premier League season set to begin on Friday when Arsenal face Coventry.**

A trip to St. James’ Park on Sunday is where Liverpool begin their league campaign, but they will have to make do without Barcola for the time being, at least.

They will hopefully have him in the squad to face Nottingham Forest the following Saturday, but there is still a good chance this transfer saga drags out until Deadline Day on 1 September, when Liverpool will, one way or another, find out the player’s fate.

Speaking about the ongoing negotiations between PSG and Liverpool, former Red and LFCTV presenter Stephen Warnock said that he expects a deal to be done soon.

_“The market’s insane, it’s just off the charts,”_ he said. _“I understand PSG’s stance when you look at Morgan Rogers going for £117m. They can say, ‘we’ve got a player who’s just won the Champions League twice, he’s a French international, he’s a starter for France, why shouldn’t we be getting that sort of a fee?’_

_“And also, you’re paying for the potential as well. So I get that. £170 million, nowhere near. You don’t touch it for that price. I think around £100-110 million, it’s still ludicrous in terms of fees these days but in terms of the way the market has moved, it looks to be around that. Not being involved for the French Cup, it looks like it’s imminent._

_“However, I go back to the Isak situation and look at how has been training, what state he is going to be in and hopefully he knows that the move is going to happen and is preparing behind the scenes, ready to come into the football club. Because it doesn’t sound like he’s being isolated like Isak was at Newcastle.”_

This saga has dragged on for nearly two months now, with fans desperate for a meaningful breakthrough. I hope Warnock is right and this story will finally head in a positive direction, because Liverpool desperately need him fit and firing for the season ahead.
