It's just three days until Liverpool's Premier League campaign gets underway.
Andoni Iraola's first competitive game in charge of the Reds is against Newcastle at St. James' Park on Sunday. Iraola, who replaced Arne Slot as Liverpool's head coach at the start of the summer, will be desperate to turn the club's fortunes around after a tough 2025/26 campaign that saw the Reds fail to win silverware.
If Iraola is to be successful this season, he'll have to do it without Mohamed Salah following his free transfer to Trabzonspor. With that in mind, here are the latest updates from Anfield ahead of Liverpool's Premier League opener.
Barcola urged to snub Arsenal
Bradley Barcola has been advised to turn down a move to Arsenal and instead join Liverpool.
The 23-year-old forward has emerged as Liverpool's top transfer target this summer. Personal terms are not expected to be an issue between Barcola and the Reds, but the Merseyside club is yet to agree on a transfer fee with Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcola is also being linked with a move to Arsenal, but former Liverpool defender Neil Ruddock thinks that's a bad idea.

"With Arsenal coming off a league title, their pulling power is huge right now," Ruddock told iGaming. "A year ago, Liverpool would have been the clear first choice, but winning the league puts Arsenal ahead in the queue.
"Liverpool is the greatest and most famous football institution in the world. Walking out at a packed Anfield every single week is the ultimate experience in football.
"Get yourself to Liverpool and be adored by the Kop — don't waste your career going down to Arsenal!
"I was fortunate enough to play in front of a full Anfield — there is no finer arena in world football. If you ask nine out of 10 professional footballers, their favorite away ground is Anfield. Playing there week in, week out is special."
Nunez reunion off
In recent weeks, Darwin Nunez has been tipped to complete a summer transfer to Turkish side Trabzonspor and reunite with former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.

Nunez has fallen down the pecking order at Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal and needs to leave before the transfer window closes if he's to reignite his career.
Despite speculation, the Uruguayan forward will not be moving to Turkey and playing alongside Salah.
Instead, Nunez is poised to remain in Saudi Arabia and join Al-Diriyah. The team has just achieved promotion to the Saudi Pro League.
