ASVEL bring in experienced NBA veteran Jae Crowder

The 36-year-old American will bring extensive NBA experience to the French club, having spent 14 seasons in the league and appeared in more than 900 games between the regular season and playoffs.

ASVEL highlighted Crowder's experience, personality, defensive activity and winning mentality as major reasons behind the move.

The signing will mark Crowder's first experience in European basketball.

Crowder was selected with the No. 34 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and went on to play 812 regular-season games, averaging 9.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

His NBA career included stops with the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings.

Crowder also appeared in 115 NBA playoff games and reached the NBA Finals in consecutive seasons, first with Miami in 2020 and then with Phoenix in 2021.

He last played in the NBA for Sacramento during the 2024-25 season, appearing in nine games.

Crowder now joins ASVEL as one of the most experienced NBA players to make the move to Europe ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
