Ahead of Cardiff City’s first away fixture of the season this weekend, Calum Scanlon spoke to the press at CCS.
Having featured against Wrexham days after rejoining the Bluebirds on loan from Liverpool, Calum reflected on his return to South Wales.
“It was brilliant to come back and be involved in such a big game,” began Calum. “It was amazing. I’m really happy to be back here and can’t wait to keep playing games and hopefully have a really good season.
“You can see how special the club is; the fans really helped us that night, stuck with us until the end and seeing the scenes at the end was brilliant. It shows you how great this club is.”

Looking ahead to this weekend, Calum is excited to continue playing for the Bluebirds in the Sky Bet Championship, having done so in League One last season.
“We always knew it was going to be a difficult game," he continued. "Both leagues are obviously competitive, but I do feel like with the Championship you get that step up, which is good for all of us because ultimately you want to be competing at the highest levels.
“I always had it in my mind from last season that I’d want to come back, I enjoyed it so it’s brilliant to come back here and get started again.
“It’s important to take games one at a time and focus on the weekend now. I want to play as many games as I can, but it’s important just to keep a level head and do what I can in the present.
“For me, it’s just about preparing for Derby County and then in the bigger picture making as many appearances as I can, which is how I want to approach this season."
