The focus right now however is on outgoings. And the club are close to finalising a £30m deal which will see Curtis Jones join Italian champions Inter Milan.
Jones edging closer to Inter deal
News broke on Wednesday that the Nerazzurri had finally reached an agreement to sign the 25-year-old.
Having held out since the start of the window for a £35m fee Richard Hughes relented and accepted an offer of around £30m inclusive of bonuses and add-ons.
That might seem a little on the cheap side for a player of Jones’ quality - with six England caps to his name as well as two Premier League titles. But Liverpool have been under considerable pressure due to a short contract duration on Jones’ current deal.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Curtis Jones medical
He last agreed a renewal back in 2022 - taking him up to 2027 - and the homegrown schemer had entered the final 12 months of his contract.
Liverpool had only one choice in the current window - accept Inter’s offer or else risk losing the No17 on a free next summer.
Inter’s patience has paid off with Jones joiningcompatriots Djed Spence and John Stones at San Siro in the current transfer window after an accord was struck on Wednesday.

Jones will be Chivu's dream signing
Personal terms are reportedly long agreed between Cristian Chivu’s side and Jones - and Fabrizio Romano has now set out a timeline for the deal.
The Italian transfer supremo states that Jones is jetting out to Milan on Thursday in order to wrap up the deal and undergo medical tests.
“Curtis Jones will fly to Milano on Thursday for medical tests after deal agreed with Liverpool at lunch time,” he wrote on X.
Despite missing the last two Liverpool matches due to a hip injury it is not expected that this deal will encounter any kind of last-minute hitch.
Chivu has had Jones in mind as an ideal solution in the transfer market and now seems to have finally got his man. Jones signs on at Inter until 2031 - and will form a key part of the double-winning manager’s new-look regime.
