Ian Wright has hit out at Arsenal supporters who have targeted Myles Lewis-Skelly’s family amid the uncertainty surrounding the youngster’s future at the Emirates.
Lewis-Skelly has been the subject of transfer speculation this summer, with Arsenal considering his future following the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes and increased competition for places in Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season and remains one of the most highly-rated young players to come through Arsenal’s academy in recent years.

The former Arsenal striker said: “I just don’t understand how people can go after his mum. I don’t understand it.”
Wright continued: “If you’ve got something to say about Myles, say it to Myles. But to go after his mum, I don’t understand it.”

His comments come amid a difficult period for Lewis-Skelly, whose future at Arsenal remains uncertain despite the teenager having established himself as an important member of Arteta’s squad.

His performances also earned him international recognition, further increasing his profile and attracting attention from clubs around the Premier League.
