Mikel Arteta faces the media ahead of Arsenal's clash with Coventry City in their opening match of the Premier League season. The Gunners are aiming to defend their English top-flight title for the first time since the 1930s.
Now champions, Arsenal have an even bigger target on their back and face a promoted side on matchday one for the first time since 2021, when they were beaten by Thomas Frank’s Brentford. But the side is in a very different state five years later.
The Gunners have won the FA Community Shield, and Arteta will hopefully provide insight into the latest team news ahead of Friday night’s clash. Arsenal have also agreed a deal for Ezri Konsa, and despite typically not wanting to be drawn on players not yet confirmed, perhaps with the deal significantly advanced, there will be some insight from the Spaniard.
