Napoli have reportedly opened talks to to sign Aston Villa transfer target Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea.
The 25-year-old forward has attracted interest from several clubs heading into the final days of the summer transfer window.
Villa’s interest in Jackson was sparked earlier this summer amid doubts over Ollie Watkins’ future, and he could still leave the club for Al-Hilal.
While Villa have offered Watkins a new contract until 2030, they cannot match the wages the Saudi Arabian club can offer.
Villa have turned down three offers for Watkins and have communicated their preference to keep him to both Al-Hilal and the player.
Yet, with his future remaining unclear, Jackson would be an obvious target should Villa need to replace him.
However, Sky Italy are now reporting that Napoli have opened talks with Chelsea over a move for the Senegal international.
Napoli would need to sell a player first to sign Jackson, should they even reach an agreement with Chelsea over his transfer.
Noa Lang has been linked with a move away from the club, while the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Joshua Zirkzee are also options for Napoli this summer.
