Ex-Celtics Fan Favorite Leaves NBA for Europe image

Jae Crowder is leaving the NBA for Europe.
The 36-year-old forward has signed with LDLC ASVEL, a French team that plays in the EuroLeague. Crowder has reportedly signed a one-year contract with the club.
In a fun piece of family history, Crowder's father also played for LDLC ASVEL in the 1997-98 season.

The No. 34 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Crowder heads overseas after 13 years in the NBA. He's played for nine NBA teams, including the Boston Celtics.
Crowder spent three seasons with the Celtics. In 202 games, he averaged 12.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 35.3 percent from 3-point range.
Known for his 3-point shooting and tough defense, Crowder became a fan favorite in Boston.
"It was in Boston that his profile truly exploded," LDLC ASVEL wrote in the press release announcing Crowder's signing. "A player with character, capable of defending several positions, taking on the best opposing attackers and punishing from beyond the 3-point line, Crowder has become over the years one of the most sought-after 'two-way players' in the league."
Crowder has also appeared in 115 career NBA Playoff games. He was a starter on two teams that reached the NBA Finals — the 2020 Miami Heat and 2021 Phoenix Suns.
Crowder most recently played for the Sacramento Kings. He appeared in only nine games with the franchise in the 2024-25 season.
Crowder will wear No. 99 with his new team.
