Inter Milan haven’t given up on the transfer deal for Curtis Jones. The Italian club have renewed their interest in the Liverpool player ahead of the next season.

Inter Milan make new bid for Jones this summer

Inter Milan have submitted an offer for the Liverpool defensive midfielder. As reported by TEAMtalk, the Italian club have made a fresh bid for the 25-year-old Jones. He already indicated towards leaving the Reds this summer, since he wasn’t getting to play at his desired position. Apart from Inter Milan, clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Aston Villa have also previously expressed their interest in the English midfielder.

Jones has been part of **Liverpool**since 2018. However, the last season [2025-26 season] didn’t go as per plan. He was forced to play at the right-back position under previous manager Arne Slot. Although new manager Andoni Iraola is open to concessions, he did not assure Jones for guaranteed starts in the midfield. This is a major reason why the English midfielder is considering moving out of England.

Jones’ stats for the 2025-26 season at Liverpool, as per FOTMOB:

Competitions Matches Defensive Contributions Chances Created Passing Accuracy (%)

Premier League 34 237 21 91.6%

FA Cup 4 13 6 95.2%

EFL Cup 1 1 — 94.6%

UEFA Champions League 9 13 2 94.7%

Will Liverpool retain Curtis Jones?

Although chances are unlikely, Liverpool might still make a final push to retain Jones, even if just for the 2026-27 season. The team coach Andoni Iraola expressed his faith in the defensive midfielder, and hoped that the management could retain him for some more time. In an interview last month, he termed Jones as a great player and urged him to remain at Anfield.

This is also a significant reason why Inter Milan was turned down twice. They have been seeking Jones’ transfer since early 2026. However, their previous two bids were rejected, since it didn’t match Liverpool’s asking price of €35 million. This is because despite an average season for Liverpool in the 2025-26 Premier League, Jones performed well individually. He was one of the main reasons behind the Reds’ fifth place finish in the League table.

Future gameplan for Curtis Jones

Jones is currently recovering from his injuries before preparing for the next season. He got a groin injury in April 2026 during the match against Fulham. This pulled him out from the remaining matches of the UEFA Champions League. He was also forced to miss out on the 2026 World Cup. If he wants to make a significant impact in club football, the English midfielder must focus on his fitness. He is not only brilliant in midfield, but equally capable of handling the team’s attack as well as defense whenever needed. If the Reds somehow manage to retain Jones for the 2026-27 season, it will be a bonus for the team’s midfield.

The Reds are hoping for a better season next year. Team manager Iraola has maintained that the good players won’t be forced to leave Anfield. That is why the management is trying their best to retain players like Alexis Mac Allister for this summer. Despite offers from Manchester City, the Reds aren’t ready to give up on the Argentinian midfielder. If they manage to retain Jones, it will be equally brilliant.

It won’t be a cakewalk for Inter Milan if they still wish to pursue Curtis Jones. However, if the Italian club have made up their mind, nothing can stop them from securing Jones’ transfer this summer. It will be interesting to see which club the English midfielder eventually chooses for the next season.
