Manchester City officials are well underway with their end-of-market flurry as the summer window rapidly approaches its conclusion, with several moving parts firmly on the agenda of sporting director Hugo Viana.
In terms of outgoings still to conclude, City remain in talks with Tottenham over a double deal for Savinho and Omar Marmoush, whilst Newcastle United are maintaining an interest in Nico Gonzalez.
Given the existing sales of Tijjani Reijnders and Rodri to Al Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia and FC Barcelona, adding to the earlier exit of Bernardo Silva on a free to Real Madrid, there is certainly plenty of work to do in the middle of the park.
But with an injury reportedly sustained by Jeremy Doku and the aforementioned Savinho keen on pushing through a move to Roberto De Zerbi's North London outfit, there is a clear need for Enzo Maresca to add cutting-edge and dynamism to his forward line in wide areas.
Man City begin work on €100 million-rated Allan
Now, according to a new report from The Athletic's David Ornstein, Sam Lee, Guillermo Rai, and Mario Cortegana, Manchester City are working on a deal to sign Palmeiras winger Allan Elias.
The 22-year-old is reportedly one multiple targets that those within the Etihad Stadium have now identified for the ongoing summer transfer window as Tottenham advance in their own talks for City's Savinho.
Whilst the Brazilian side maintain that the left-footed, right-winger is not for sale this summer, Palmeiras sources are said to have indicated that the winger's contractual agreement within the club contains a release clause set at €100 million.
Options remain limited for Man City in the market
Manchester City's attention on markets further afield than the immediate European scene is perhaps an indicator of the difficulty that many clubs are finding this summer in attempting to recruit first-team ready names.
For City, in the wide positions, profiles within a reasonable price range have been difficult to come by all summer, with Chelsea's Pedro Neto among those admired within the club and certainly by former Stamford Bridge boss Enzo Maresca.
The Portugal international has long been on the radar of Manchester City, who held an interest in him during his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers, although Chelsea have now slapped an eye-watering £100 million valuation on the versatile forward.
Elsewhere, City have also been linked with the likes of Wolves' Mateus Mane, Paris Saint-Germain's Ibrahim Mbaye, and RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande - now of Real Madrid after a deal was agreed between the two clubs worth up to £120 million.
