The Enzo Maresca has arrived, but it didn't really kick off as he'd hoped in Cardiff.
Not to worry, the Community Shield is a glorified friendly, as any team that loses in the season curtain-raiser will tell you, and the real work starts now.
A win over Bournemouth on Sunday and nobody will even be able to tell you what the score was at the Principality Stadium (apart from Arsenal fans who have spent years hearing Mikel Arteta insist the Community Shield is a real trophy).
There are plenty of questions to be answered by City this season, not least of all in the transfer window. The Blues are expected to be busy over the coming weeks with a number of incomings and outgoings likely to be confirmed.
