Liverpool are confident of completing a deal to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG, with sources close to the situation suggesting there will soon be an agreement between the two clubs.
The French international is Liverpool’s No. 1 transfer target this summer, but talks have been difficult. PSG’s massive €170m (£145m) valuation of the forward has been the major sticking point, but there now appears to be some progress.
Fabrice Hawkins reports that “everyone involved” in discussions between Liverpool and PSG for Barcola “thinks there will be an agreement.”
He said: “Bradley Barcola wants to join Liverpool. PSG were informed earlier of his desire and it was accepted.
“There’s no intention to keep Bradley Barcola. The sticking point has been the valuation, where they started at €170m. Liverpool have made different verbal offers.
“They’ve made offers since the verbal one, but there hasn’t been a written offer yet because, at this level, I think the next written offer will be the one that gets it done.
“We’ve understood that it would be somewhere between €130m and €150m, but in any case, it won’t be below €120m for Bradley Barcola. Everyone involved in this deal thinks there will be an agreement.”
Bradley Barcola returns to PSG training as talks drag on
I’ve seen several fans online stressing about Barcola returning to training with PSG. They’re worried that this is an indication that he will not leave to join Liverpool, but it’s actually a good thing.

Whereas last summer Alexander Isak went on strike to force a move from Newcastle United to Anfield and wound up being severely unfit when he finally got the move, Barcola will be fit and healthy when a deal is finally agreed.
Given that Barcola will likely only join the Reds after the Premier League season has already begun, he needs to be ready to jump straight into full training and then the starting XI.
Liverpool cannot afford to have to wait weeks or months for the 23-year-old to be ready to join the team in a meaningful way. His return to training is actually a very, very good thing.
