Liverpool are entering the closing stages of preparation for the new Premier League season, with head coach Andoni Iraola using the final days of the transfer window to finalise his squad.
The Reds open their campaign against Newcastle United at Anfield on August 23.

Iraola, appointed in June after Arne Slot’s departure at the end of May, oversaw a pre-season tour of the United States before returning to Merseyside for friendlies against Monaco and Como.
He has spent the summer assessing his options across the squad, with fringe players facing uncertain futures.
Liverpool have already agreed a deal to sell Curtis Jones to Inter Milan. Kieran Morrison has undergone a medical with League One side Sheffield Wednesday ahead of a season-long loan move, while other departures are being lined up before the window closes.
Among those expected to leave is right-back Calvin Ramsay, who has fallen behind Jeremie Frimpong in Iraola’s pecking order despite featuring regularly during pre-season.
According to The Athletic, Ramsay is set to join Scottish Premiership club St Mirren on a season-long loan.
The 23-year-old has been given permission to travel to Scotland to undergo a medical, and the move will effectively end his time at Anfield, with his contract due to expire next summer.
Ramsay came through the academy at Aberdeen, making 39 first-team appearances before Liverpool signed him in the summer of 2022 for a fee reported to be around £4 million.
He has made only two senior appearances for the club, both in his first season, and has spent time away on loan at Preston North End, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic and, most recently, Kilmarnock.
The defender has one senior cap for Scotland, earned on his debut against Turkey in November 2022. His last loan spell in the Scottish Premiership, at Kilmarnock, means he no longer qualifies as a homegrown player under Premier League rules, since that club is based outside England and Wales.
That status has added urgency to Liverpool’s efforts to move him on.
With Joe Gomez and loan signing Ronald Araujo both able to cover right-back, and Conor Bradley continuing his recovery from a serious knee injury, Ramsay is not short of competition for a starting role at Anfield.
Liverpool are also working to register incoming attacking options this month, including Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, who would occupy a non-homegrown squad slot.
Freeing up that space has been cited as a factor behind Liverpool’s willingness to let Ramsay leave.
A loan to St Mirren would give Ramsay regular first-team football in a league he has not featured in consistently since his spell at Kilmarnock.
The move is expected to be finalised in the coming days, before the transfer window closes.
