A new report has detailed Manchester City’s stance on the acquisition of fresh wide attacking options in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

Manchester City moved with success to secure the long-term future of Jeremy Doku in recent weeks, with the Belgian international signing a fresh deal at the Etihad Stadium that will now run till June 2031.
Elsewhere in the club's forward line, Antoine Semenyo enjoyed a strong first six months at the club, spearheading City’s push for the Premier League title during the second-half of last campaign by scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 28 games across all competitions after joining from Bournemouth in January.
Doku and Semenyo are expected to start the 2026/27 season - Manchester City’s first campaign under Enzo Maresca after Pep Guardiola’s exit - as first-choice picks. But the potential and somewhat expected exit of Savinho to Tottenham in the coming days is likely to convince the Blues to recruit reinforcements.

Looking over the situation, The Athletic’s Sam Lee has revealed that Manchester City have been scouting the market for an ideal addition in the wide attacking areas, but have so far not found a suitable option.
The report mentions that Ivorian star Yan Diomande was of interest at one stage, but the Blues pulled out of the race for his signature owing to wage demands, with the player ultimately joining Real Madrid instead from RB Leipzig.
Manchester City remain on the lookout for a winger, however, with Spurs expected to step up talks for Savinho - valued by Etihad Stadium officials at £85 million - with the Brazilian having signed a new contract until 2031 after a move to north London broke down last summer.

Chelsea’s Pedro Neto is also admired in Manchester but it has been mentioned that City are yet to make formal enquiries to explore the signing of the Portugal international, who played under Maresca during his time at Stamford Bridge.
There is expected to certainly be no interest from the Etihad Stadium in meeting Chelsea's £100 million valuation on the former Wolves winger, either.
How will Man City’s attack shape up this season?
Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo both started Sunday’s 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal in Wales, and there is no reason why the duo will not be at the top of Enzo Maresca’s wide attack pecking order for the most part of the forthcoming season.
Erling Haaland was far from his best against the Gunners in Cardiff but will be gearing up for an important season himself, having enjoyed a splendid FIFA World Cup campaign with Norway in North America in this summer.
Phil Foden has also recently signed a new contract to end any and all speculation over his Manchester City future, and Rayan Cherki will be keen to build on a very encouraging debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium.
Last season, Manchester City found their feet in attack truly after the arrival of Semenyo in January and with the Ghanaian enjoying an impressive pre-season in east Asia, Maresca will be confident there are plenty of goals to work around in the side he has inherited.
