Liverpool’s search for a wide attacker took a fresh twist earlier today.
For the best part of the past month, the Reds have been locked in talks with PSG to sign Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola.
Those talks are continuing with the European champions, but it appears as if Andoni Iraola’s side also have other names on their shortlist.
And David Ornstein has confirmed that one of them is Yankuba Minteh, for whom Liverpool had a £50m bid rejected this week.

Minteh injured his right leg earlier in pre-season and is set to be out for around two months.
However, that hasn’t deterred Liverpool, who have made their move to sign the former Newcastle United winger.
Ornstein wrote on X: “Liverpool made an offer in recent days to sign Yankuba Minteh from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Brighton & Hove Albion have rejected a £50million bid from Liverpool for winger Yankuba Minteh.
The 22-year-old is currently recovering from surgery on a right leg injury sustained in a 3-0 friendly win at home to Roma earlier this month.

The report from The Athletic also states that Minteh would be open to a move to Anfield if the two sides agree a fee. Andy Naylor, who is Brighton’s chief correspondent for The Athletic, states the move will ‘probably’ end up happening.
Liverpool also remain in talks for Barcola and Mbaye, but with their move for Minteh, they have proved that they are keen to get deals over the line ASAP.
