Chelsea made it clear that Enzo Fernandez would only move to Manchester City before last Friday for a fee of £120m, and now if he moves this summer it could be for even more than that.
Many expected Fernandez to leave Chelsea this season, however with just days until the new Premier League season gets underway,
The Blues set City a deadline of 5pm last Friday to meet their valuation, however did not hear of any meaningful offer coming their way.

This has not put an end to Enzo Maresca’s side’s interest though, and as the window counts down, they are getting more desperate in their quest to replace Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders.
Flashscore have stated however that if City remain interested, Chelsea feel they can continue to drive the price higher as the window gets closer to shutting.

After spending north of the £120m figure on signing Elliot Anderson, it remains to be seen if City are prepared to go to that level again.
Xabi Alonso is currently planning his Chelsea side with the 2022 World Cup winner in mind, likely alongside Moises Caicedo in midfield.
Chelsea need to be careful with running up Fernandez price
Banking a potential Premier League record fee will no doubt sound great to those who crunch the numbers at Stamford Bridge, however they need to be wary of what goes on in the games too.
Selling Fernandez now would give the Blues very little chance of finding a suitable replacement in time, with other clubs unlikely to want to part ways with their key men.
Adam Wharton and Alex Scott have both been mentioned as potential targets should Chelsea part ways with Fernandez, however Crystal Palace and Bournemouth know how important their players are.
It isn’t believed that Chelsea need a sale of that magnitude this summer, and if that is the case they should not be looking to sell the Argentine in this window.
