Earlier this afternoon, James Harden has signed a brand new contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Harden reportedly agreed on a $97 million, three-year deal with the Eastern Conference powerhouse.
Harden managed to write his name in NBA history with the new contract details.
History behind a new contract
His career earnings will now reach $511 million, making him the fourth player in NBA history to eclipse the $500 million mark.
Harden is now joining the 76ers' LeBron James, the Rockets' Kevin Durant and the Warriors' Stephen Curry in that company.
But that's not the only rare achievement that Harden managed to accomplish with this deal.
Harden turns 37 next Wednesday (Aug. 26), and when the 11-time NBA All-Star officially signs, he will become the second player in league history to sign for over $90 million in guaranteed salary at age 37 or older, with LeBron being the other.
Harden's Cleveland legacy so far
"The Beard" is preparing for his first full season with Cleveland after arriving at this year's Trade Deadline from the Los Angeles Clippers.
Last year in 44 games for Cleveland, Harden averaged 20 points, 6.8 assists and 4.9 rebounds.
In the playoffs, he played 18 matches, boasting averages of 19.2 points, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds.
