Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is in Milan to undergo a medical ahead of his move to Inter Milan.
The 25-year-old will move in a $58 million deal to the Italian champions, with the academy graduate at Anfield being sold as he enters the final year of his deal at the club.
With Andoni Iraola likely to play a 4-2-3-1, with Florian Wirtz in the key playmaking role, local boy Jones’ place in the pecking order had slipped behind the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Grevenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai.
For Jones, it ends a 16-year tenure at the club, dating back to joining as a nine-year-old.

Jones will link with fellow England international Djed Spence, who moved for a similar fee from Tottenham, while the Christian Chivu has lured Manuel Akanji and John Stones from Manchester City as well to reenforce his title defence.
Meanwhile, Brighton remain resolute in the face of Liverpool’s pursuit of winger Yankuba Minteh.
The Reds pitched a $96m deal, which was not where the Seagulls valued him at. He is currently out until October through injury.
It comes as Liverpool continue to look to bolster their options post Mohamed Salah, with the headline pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola still ongoing, reportedly, despite the massive $278m fee a major stumbling block.
Liverpool open their season against Newcastle this weekend.
