For the past three seasons, the NBA and its community have seen Victor Wembanyama's rise to become a superstar on the San Antonio Spurs. Everyone knew he was a generational prospect as a 7'5" center who also has perimeter skills. He uses every bit of that size to help him dominate, especially on the defensive end.
Over those three years, Wembanyama has seen a lot of his peers praise him for his dominance. Now, that includes Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, a three-time MVP who has always been positive whenever he talks about Wembanyama.

As the premier center in the NBA over the past decade, Jokic is the gold standard for the big man. He is a three-time MVP who knows how to be such a successful player with the Nuggets, as he is quite possibly the greatest offensive player of the 2020s.
Considering Wembanyama has a legitimate argument for being the greatest defensive player of the decade, he is on a great trajectory. Even if he is one of his primary rivals for awards, Jokic has no issue with praising the younger Wembanyama and his potential.

Jokic's Serbia and Wembanyama's France had an exhibition game against each other on Thursday. It was a fun game from both teams, but the Serbian team came away with the victory. Since he was matched up against Wemby, Jokic was asked about him after the game.
"I don't see it as a rivalry, as I play every game the same way, but he has the opportunity to be the most unique basketball player we've ever seen. It only depends on him how well he's gonna fit, how well he's gonna work hard, how well he's gonna get to his spots, and treat his body well. He definitely has the opportunity to be the best ever," Jokic said about Wembanyama after the Serbia vs France game.
That kind of praise from a three-time MVP is huge for Wembanyama. Jokic is often quiet, but he always finds a way to praise his fellow superstar center. That should be a good pat in the back for Wemby, but it also serves as a motivator for him going forward.
