Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been ordered to pay $14,000 per month in child support for his son with Alexandria Descroches, according to TMZ Sports.
TMZ, citing court documents, reported that the amount was calculated in part from Edwards' monthly income of nearly $4.8 million.
The final figure represents a significant increase from a baseline child-support calculation of approximately $3,200 per month.
Descroches had requested a higher amount, according to the report.
The two share a son, Amir, who was born in 2023.
Court considers Edwards' income and expenses
According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, Descroches earns approximately $1,016 per month and testified that she hopes to complete her college education in order to better support their son.
The court also considered Edwards' substantial income and reported monthly expenses.
The documents state that Edwards has the financial capacity to spend approximately $31,000 per month on food, $70,000 on entertainment, and $30,000 on vacations.
Along with the $14,000 monthly child-support obligation, the judge ordered Edwards to obtain a life insurance policy worth approximately $2.6 million, with Descroches named as the primary beneficiary.
He was also ordered to cover more than $21,000 in her legal fees.
Edwards reportedly says he has never met his son
The court documents also address Edwards' relationship with Amir.
According to TMZ, Edwards testified under oath that he has never met his son in person and is not seeking parenting time with him.
That detail makes the ruling particularly notable, as the financial obligations were established despite Edwards not pursuing an active parenting role.
