Dario Vidosic says it will be more than a friendly for Albion after they were invited to take on Barcelona.
The teams will meet at the Estadi Johan Cruyff Stadium for the Joan Gamper Trophy (7pm BST).
The Gamper is a traditional fixture for the Catalan giants and has been introduced to the women’s game, with Barca – whose motto is “more than a club” - winning all four editions so far.
Albion have cut short a training camp in Holland to take up the invitation.
Head coach Vidosic said: “It is not just a friendly. We are competing for a trophy.
“They hold this game quite dearly and we get to compete against them in that.
“It is really exciting. We have had a lot of good offers which unfortunately, one way or another, we weren’t able to align with each other’s pre-seasons.
“But we are really happy where we are and it just shows we are doing the right things.”
Vidosic revealed Barcelona called last season.
He told The Argus: “We weren’t able to make it last season just because they had a change in fixtures.
“They said we were again first choice if we were able to so that was quite a simple one.”
Albion beat Genk 3-0 in a friendly with goals from Olaug Tvedten (two) and youngster Taylor Warren.
