**Manchester City’s expected double sale of Savinho and Omar Marmoush should all but rule out Spurs from signing Cody Gakpo this summer.**
According to a report from [BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cz645z0w3ypo), Manchester City are in talks with Spurs to sell the attacking duo.
They report: _“Sources have told BBC Sport that negotiations between the clubs are progressing, although an agreement has yet to be reached._
_“City’s valuation for the pair is unclear, but the club would expect to make a significant profit on both.”_
Spurs have already spent £185m, but with City hoping to make a profit on players that cost a combined £89m, it’s difficult to envisage a scenario where Tottenham sign both Marmoush and Savinho, while also having the funds to sign Gakpo.
Liverpool are said to value the Dutchman at around £72m. If Spurs were to sign all three attackers, that would take their summer spending to at least £346m, which just seems unreasonable to expect.
Liverpool would be wise to keep Gakpo

I don’t see the logic in selling Gakpo anymore, particularly with Rio Ngumoha set to play on the right wing this season.
The Dutch winger is proven in the Premier League and, aside from last season, guarantees over 20 goals and assists. Even last season, the 27-year-old scored nine goals and assisted six. With Salah gone, that attacking output will be needed to compensate.
Signing Bradley Barcola is important, but so is keeping Gakpo.
Liverpool icon John Aldridge said something similar the other day.
The former Red said: _“I’m not saying Liverpool need to have a squad capable of challenging for the title, but we have to give ourselves a chance of a top-four finish, so the talk about Cody Gakpo potentially leaving is worrying. Liverpool cannot sell him. It would be insane to do that._
_Aldridge added: “Liverpool need to be buying players – not selling them.”_
Iraola looks like the perfect sort of manager to get the best out of Gakpo, and after his goal at Anfield the other day, I just can’t shake the feeling that selling him will be a mistake.
I am happy to be wrong, but I don’t think I am in this case.
