Arsenal set to sign two Nigerian starlets from Liverpool and Manchester United

Arsenal are reportedly on the brink of completing the signings of two promising youngsters of Nigerian descent Vincent Joseph and Habeeb Ogunneye.

According to The London Standard, the Gunners are set to add Manchester United fullback Ogunneye to their ranks after previously reaching an agreement with Joseph to join the club from Liverpool.

Ogunneye was scheduled to undergo a medical with the Premier League champions on Thursday, with an official confirmation of the deal expected in the coming days.

The 20-year-old will move to the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer, with Liverpool retaining a 40 per cent sell-on clause, and is expected to feature for Arsenal U21s while also training with Mikel Arteta’s first team.

A right-back by trade, he has received ten call ups for first team games without making his senior debut for the Red Devils.

In search of first team football, Ogunneye spent the second half of last season on loan at Newport County, where he scored once in 21 all-competition appearances.

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Liverpool's Joseph, but the two clubs are still working to settle a transfer fee for the 16-year-old striker.

Should they be unable to reach an agreement, the matter will be referred to a tribunal, which determines compensation when players under 24 move clubs before signing their first professional contract or after their professional contract expires.

Vincent is the younger brother of Valentin Joseph, who joined Brighton & Hove Albion from Blackburn Rovers earlier this month.
