The Blues have identified the 22-year-old Brazilian as a potential addition to Enzo Maresca’s attacking ranks following a number of notable exits through the likes of Bernardo Silva, Rodri, and Tijjani Reijnders this summer.
Manchester City are undergoing a major rebuild after the departure of Pep Guardiola and, after being humbled by Arsenal in last week’s Community Shield in Cardiff, the onus is on the Blues to make a strong finish to the transfer window.
Elliot Anderson was brought in from Nottingham Forest for a club record £116 million in June, with the England international joining forces with Maresca after starring for the Three Lions at the FIFA World Cup in North America.
Personal terms agreed between Man City and Allan Elias
Ahead of Sunday’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City have seemingly taken a significant step in securing the next big-money addition to their roster off the back of an agreement with Tottenham for Savinho.
City have struck an agreement on personal terms with Palmeiras’ Allan Elias to move to the Etihad Stadium, with club-to-club negotiations underway ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
Once a fee is agreed, Allan will then travel to Manchester to undergo a medical and complete a transfer, with Hugo Viana and City still in the market for recruits to bolster the centre of midfield.
The Blues remain interested in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez as talks elsewhere progress with Lille for Morocco international Ayyoub Bouaddi, who could cost upwards of £80 million after the departures of Bernardo Silva and Rodri.
What is next for Man City in the transfer market?
Manchester City are expected to make a final decision on Enzo Fernandez sooner rather than later, with Etihad Stadium officials reluctant to match the west London outfit’s £120 million asking price for the 25-year-old Argentina international.
City are understood to have made enquiries to Crystal Palace over England midfielder Adam Wharton, but the south London side have made it clear that the 22-year-old is not for sale this summer.
In terms of outgoings, Manchester City have agreed a record £85 million (£75 million up-front and up to £10 million in add-ons) sale of the aforementioned Savinho to Tottenham, with the Brazilian set to undergo a medical in north London and join forces with Roberto De Zerbi.
Spurs are also in talks with City to sign Omar Marmoush, who struggled for regular minutes under Pep Guardiola last term and is open to following Savinho to north London ahead of the transfer deadline.
