Leeds United interest in £88.5m Chelsea star, Michael Zetterer latest and Liam Delap truth:…

Leeds United are interested in a Chelsea international winger as a possible option to strengthen Daniel Farke’s squad but the club are not looking to sign Liam Delap.

Leeds will begin their second season back in the Premier League on Saturday with a trip to Nottingham Forest where big summer signings James Trafford, Tarik Muharemovic and Harry Wilson are expected to make their full Leeds debuts.

Leeds, though, still have another 11 days in which to further strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window and the YEP understands the club are interested in Chelsea’s 25-year-old Ukraine international winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

Mudryk joined Chelsea in a deal worth £88.5m from Shakhtar Donetsk back in January 2023 and the winger has recently returned to the squad following the resolution of a doping ban.

As per a report from the BBC, The YEP understands that Mudryk is a player Leeds are looking at with a view to a possible loan deal but that the Whites are not in for his teammate Liam Delap.

Reports emerged on Thursday evening of apparent Leeds interest in 23-year-old striker Delap but the YEP understands those reports are wide of the mark.

Leeds are, though, looking to sign Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer as new back-up keeper to James Trafford.
