Arsenal are reportedly exploring a move for Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz as Mikel Arteta looks to add another attacking option to his squad before the summer transfer window closes.
The Gunners have already invested heavily in their squad this summer, but reports suggest Arteta remains keen to strengthen his frontline, particularly on the left side. Yildiz has now emerged as one of the names high on Arsenal’s shortlist, with the Turkey international viewed as a potential statement signing.
According to the latest reports, Arsenal have decided to explore whether a deal for the 21-year-old can be negotiated, with Arteta said to be particularly keen on the Juventus star. Reports from Italy have suggested the Gunners could be prepared to consider a substantial offer, potentially reaching around €100 million, although Juventus’ position remains a major obstacle.
Juventus have repeatedly indicated that Yildiz is central to their plans. The attacker has also been handed the club’s iconic No.10 shirt and is regarded as one of the most important young players at the Serie A side.
Recent reports claim Juventus remain unwilling to sell Yildiz, even for a huge offer, meaning Arsenal would need to convince both the player and the Italian club if they are to have any chance of completing a deal.
That has not stopped Arsenal from continuing to monitor the situation. When asked about forwards, he added: “The purpose has to be better than we were last year, or to be different and to evolve in a different way that can increase our probability of winning again.
“And if we can add more, we will try to do that – but only if that’s the case. Because they are the right reasons to sign, not because of any other reason.
“Otherwise, we’re not going to get better and we’re going to regret it.”
There have also been suggestions that ARSENAL could explore player-plus-cash solutions involving players who could leave the Emirates, although there is currently no indication that Juventus would accept such a proposal.
For Arsenal supporters, the interest in Yildiz is certainly exciting. He possesses the technical ability, creativity and attacking unpredictability that could add another dimension to Arteta’s already talented frontline.
However, with Juventus determined to retain their young star, ARSENAL may need a spectacular offer to turn their reported interest into a genuine transfer.
