Chelsea have rejected a loan offer from Leeds United for winger Mykhailo Mudryk, football.london understands.

The Blues have knocked back an opening bid from their historic rivals, who are keen to take Mudryk to Elland Road for the upcoming season. The Ukrainian winger returned to football earlier this month after his anti-doping charges were lifted. Mudryk had been suspended from the sport since November 2024 after testing positive for meldonium.

There are several interested parties keeping a close eye on Mudryk's situation, with Chelsea open to loaning him out for the upcoming season in a desperate bid for more first-team minutes. While Leeds made a move for Mudryk, no decision has been made at the time of writing over where the 25-year-old will play his football this season.

Leeds' opening offer for Mudryk fell below Chelsea's expectations, sources close to the situation said, and it is over to the Whites to see if they push on with their interest.

Strasbourg, Chelsea's sister club, remains an option for Mudryk, although the winger's preference is said to be to remain in the Premier League. Mudryk is open to moving away from Stamford Bridge this term in order to build his fitness and sharpness up after such a long time in the wilderness.

Xabi Alonso has multiple left-sided winger options at his disposal this season. Club-record signing Morgan Rogers, who arrived earlier this summer for £117million from Aston Villa, looks to be Alonso's go-to man on the left side of attack.

Jamie Gittens is another option after impressing during the club's pre-season tour. Geovany Quenda and Pedro Neto can play both sides, and Estevao Willian has also been used on the left wing before.
