Thomas Partey has signed a one-year deal with Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab. The Ghana international joined as a free agent after leaving Villarreal at the end of his contract last season.
The 33-year-old made 32 appearances for the Spanish club during the 2025/26 campaign but was not offered a new deal. Partey previously spent several seasons at Arsenal after joining from Atletico Madrid in 2020, making 130 appearances and scoring nine goals before departing as a free agent in 2025.

The move marks the first time Partey has played outside Europe since beginning his professional career. Al-Shabab confirmed the signing on Friday as they look to add experience and quality to their midfield for the new season.
Partey continues to face legal proceedings in Britain, where he has pleaded not guilty to charges. He was unable to play for Ghana at the World Cup earlier this year after a visa application was refused.
Supporters of his former clubs will note the latest chapter in his career.
