Curtis Jones is closing in on a move to Inter Milan, with the Italian club needing only to confirm the transfer officially.
The 25-year-old completed a medical in Milan on Friday, the final formality before his switch to the San Siro is made public.

Inter and Liverpool struck an agreement worth €35m (£30m) on Wednesday night, bringing an end to months of negotiation between the two clubs.
With the paperwork now in place, Jones is expected to be unveiled as an Inter player before the club’s Serie A opener against Monza on Saturday.
Inter head coach Cristian Chivu addressed the signing at his pre-match press conference on Friday, offering his first public comments on the deal.
“I’m pleased with Jones’ arrival,” Chivu said. “We have the opportunity to bring in a player with certain characteristics, and he has expressed his full availability to join us.”
“Everyone understands the importance of this team and this club,” he added. “Over the years, we’ve achieved significant results, and with them we can raise the bar; we’re a competitive group with many options.”
Jones’ departure ends a 16-year association with Liverpool, having joined the club’s academy at the age of nine. He made 228 appearances for the Reds, scoring 22 goals.
The midfielder had entered the final year of his contract at Anfield and was left out of Liverpool’s recent pre-season friendlies against Monaco and Como as speculation over his future intensified.
Inter had pursued Jones for much of the year, with an approach in January followed by a rejected bid of £21.7m earlier this summer. Liverpool had initially been seeking closer to £34m before the two sides settled on the £30m package.
The agreement includes a 10% sell-on clause for Liverpool on any future Inter sale of the player.
Jones becomes the third Englishman to join Inter this summer, following the arrivals of John Stones and Djed Spence.
The Inter coach was speaking two days before his side begin the defence of their Serie A title against Monza at the Meazza on Saturday evening.
Liverpool, meanwhile, open their Premier League season away at Newcastle United on Sunday under new head coach Andoni Iraola, who has already spoken publicly about Jones’ expected exit.
