Arsenal Team News
Speaking to the press before Arsenal vs Coventry City, Arteta gave the latest update on the availability of Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice: “Yes, they’re ready to be involved, yes,” confirmed the Gunners boss.
Arteta also gave the latest update on the return of Jurrien Timber, and said: “No, I said in the next few weeks. He’s not training with the group yet.”
Discussing the club’s transfer plans, amid interest in signing Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, Arteta said:
“We are really active in the market, I think I mentioned that a few days ago. The ambition is to improve the squad. We have a really specific issue in the backline, especially with the long-term injury of Wilo [Saliba] and the fact that we miss one more defender; that’s clear. So we are trying to reinforce that area. Whenever we’re ready, we’ll announce something.”
“I’m always positive, I’m always confident. It’s something that I cannot control. It doesn’t depend just on us, so we are willing to improve that area and we’re going to try our best to achieve that,” added Arteta.

Looking ahead to Arsenal, the Coventry City boss said:
“I want to show in our performance and how we approach the game that we’re not coming into it with fear. We respect Arsenal greatly, but it doesn’t mean you play with too much respect that you are passive. We can hopefully show we are a good team that want to do something this year.”
