Liverpool have burst into life in the transfer market in recent days after a few slow weeks.
The Reds remain locked in talks to sign Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, but that hasn’t stopped them from chasing other attackers.
Liverpool had an initial £50m bid rejected for Yankuba Minteh yesterday as Brighton continue to stand their ground over their prized asset.
And now, David Ornstein of The Athletic has confirmed that their second bid has also been turned down, with the Seagulls finally naming their asking price.

An excerpt from the aforementioned source reads: “Liverpool have seen a second offer for Yankuba Minteh turned down by Brighton & Hove Albion.
“The Athletic reported on Thursday that Brighton had rejected a £50million ($68.1m) bid from the Merseyside club for the 22-year-old. This time an offer worth £60m ($81.8m) has been knocked back.

“It remains to be seen whether Andoni Iraola’s side return with an improved approach. Sources with knowledge of the south-coast club’s position, not authorised to speak publicly, indicate they are looking for closer to £70m ($95.4m).”
Liverpool have made it very clear that they want the player, as they wouldn’t have made two sizable bids otherwise.
There appears to be a £10m gap in the valuations of the two clubs and it remains to be seen if they can reach some kind of a middle ground.
