Liverpool has confirmed the exit of Curtis Jones after the midfielder completed his transfer to Inter Milan.
Jones, who had one year remaining on his Anfield deal, has been a target for the Italian side throughout the last year with Liverpool turning down a verbal offer in June.
There were plans to hold out for an asking price in the region of $48 million (£30 million) but Inter returned with a new offer this month for the midfielder, worth around $41 million (£30million).
Jones traveled to Milan earlier this week to undergo a medical and finalize a five-year deal, joining England stars John Stones and Djed Spence, who have arrived this summer.
Jones made his debut under Jurgen Klopp after joining Liverpool's academy as a youngster. He featured regularly for Arne Slot last season but failed to nail down a regular starting spot.
And his frustrations were plain to see earlier in pre-season after not being handed the captain's armband, leading to an angry discussion with Dominik Szoboszlai.
Jones' exit also ends a streak of Liverpool having a local player in its team, following Trent Alexander-Arnold's exit last summer.
Liverpool stated: "All at Liverpool FC thank Curtis for his dedication and contribution to the club across the last 16 years, and wish him good luck in the next chapter of his career."
It remains to be seen if Liverpool will enter the transfer market for a replacement with youngster Trey Nyoni impressing Andoni Iraola in pre-season.
Iraola has strengthened his backline and added Victor Munoz in attack, with plans to make further additions before the window closes.

Speaking to Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports, he said: "We'll definitely sign players, yes. I hope more than one. The thing is, me as a coach selfishly, I want the players for the first day of pre-season so everyone is ready to go, but also I understand how this works.
"Some days you have to wait until the end. The important picture is the one we have on September 1 and I hope, because it's true that we are still quite thin, that we can have more help from here until the end of the market."
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Iraola added: "What do we need? There are certain situations we need, specifically in the wing, other positions we have to be open-minded in the market that can honestly improve our team. It's about improving the squad, we have very good players already, to improve we need specific players."
