Liverpool have seen a second offer for Yankuba Minteh rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion. Brighton had rejected Liverpool’s initial £50million bid for the 22-year-old.
The Reds have now returned with a £60million offer, but that has also been turned down. It remains to be seen whether Andoni Iraola’s side will make another approach.

According to The Athletic, Brighton are looking for closer to £70million for the winger. Minteh is recovering from surgery on a right leg injury sustained during Brighton’s 3-0 friendly win over Roma earlier this month.
Minteh is expected to be sidelined for two to three months. The 22-year-old joined Brighton from Newcastle United in 2024 and recorded three goals and four assists in 36 appearances last season.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen their attack following Mohamed Salah’s departure and have already signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna.
The Reds have also been linked with PSG forward Bradley Barcola. Liverpool begin their 2026-27 Premier League campaign away to Newcastle United on Sunday.
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has addressed speculation over Yankuba Minteh, refusing to rule out an exit for the winger amid interest from Liverpool.
“All the players, in general, there are rumors about,” Hurzeler said in a press conference. “They are important players because they are a big part of the journey in the last two years.
“But in football, we all have to understand that it is normal if you are successful and the team is doing well, and you have some good achievements, then individuals can shine.
“Then, of course, it will be a big ask for our players. That is part of our identity, and it is part of my job here. It was clear for everyone that this might happen during a busy transfer window.
“Overall, we can go through every individual player. We all know how important these kinds of players are, but we also know that with big achievements, especially in the Premier League, you create offers and a lot of attention.
“We have to wait now and the situation will evolve. I’m not here to complain; I’m here to find solutions. I’m convinced that together with my players, we will find good solutions.”
