Liverpool have an agreement for Yankuba Minteh

Liverpool have an agreement in place to sign Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh, while a journalist “daren’t say” the price of another wide man targeted at Anfield.

Wide moves have dominated the thinking at Anfield this summer. Victor Munoz is already through the door, while there’s interest in Bradley Barcola, Ibrahim Mbaye and Minteh at the moment.

TEAMtalk revealed of late that Liverpool had returned to the fold for Brighton winger Minteh, but saw a £50million bid knocked back.

Insiders reveal Yankuba Minteh latest

But there’s progress on the transfer, with Fabrizio Romano and Gambian insider Foday Manneh both revealing their own updates on personal terms and a £60million bid.

Manneh firstly said: ‘BREAKING Yankuba Minteh to Liverpool FC; a second bid rejected by Brighton from #LFC for the Gambian winger after a £50M opening offer turned down, I can exclusively confirm today. The two clubs are hopeful about agreeing and continue talks.’

Romano followed up, stating: ‘Liverpool and Yankuba Minteh have a broad verbal agreement on contract terms as the player said yes to #LFC project. Brighton rejected £60m bid sent today but talks continue, as @foday_manneh_ reported.’

While Liverpool will need to up their offer from £60million and are said to be considering doing so – the feeling is it’ll take more than £70m – that Minteh is on side already is ideal for the Anfield outfit.

Journalist can’t say Ibrahim Mbaye price

Suggestions are that Minteh is back on the radar instead of Paris Saint-Germain winger Mbaye. That potential deal would be an expensive one, but French journalist Fabrice Hawkins can not give an exact figure.

He said: “I don’t dare say the price being asked by Paris Saint-Germain, firstly because I haven’t had confirmation, and when I do get confirmation, I will write it.

“Ibrahim Mbaye has a contractual agreement with Liverpool. What’s really going to be a problem is the agreement between clubs because LFC are already negotiating for Barcola, who is their top priority, they really want to make it happen and I said, I think it’s going to go through.

“That’s the feeling amongst everyone in the deal. Secondly, there’s Ibrahim Mbaye, but PSG are asking for a substantial fee, and at the moment Liverpool aren’t ready to accept that.

“Whilst they’re sitting down negotiating with Barcola, they’re saying ‘we will negotiate, we will find common ground.’ For Ibrahim Mbaye, it’s a little bit more problematic, but negotiations are still ongoing.”

Liverpool make call on replacing Curtis Jones

Meanwhile, with Curtis Jones leaving Anfield for Inter Milan in a £30million deal, Liverpool have been forced into a decision on replacing him.

TEAMtalk is aware they’ve decided not to bring in a direct midfield replacement.

Indeed, Andoni Iraola feels he already has sufficient options in his midfield.

That call has come partially as the priority at Anfield is to bring in new wingers, with the aforementioned trio evidently high on the list.
