**Mikel Arteta** talked about the composition of his squad with a week and a half of the window to go.
**Arsenal** kicked off the 2026/27 **Premier League** campaign with a professional performance against **Coventry City**, winning 3-0 with goals from **Kai Havertz**, **Bukayo Saka** and **Martin Odegaard**.

The manager achieved the feat of winning the league title last year without having Saka, Odegaard, Havertz and **Ben White** for significant stretches of the season. The three attackers started only their second game together since December 2024, and their chemistry played a big part in the team’s fluidity on the evening at the **Emirates Stadium**. The hope this year is that they will remain fit.
**Christos Tzolis** also impressed on the left wing, wasting no time in showing that he aims to help make up in some way for what the group has lost with the sale of **Leandro Trossard** to **Besiktas**.
Arteta has stated his satisfaction with the squad— especially after the purchase of £55 million man **Ezri Konsa** from **Aston Villa**— and he updated about the fitness of midfielder **Bruno Guimaraes**.
_“The main focus has to be \[on getting our current players back to their best\] - to improve our players and improve the connection between them, because they are already so good. We talked about attacking input last year and we missed some of those players for a lot of months. The team still had a really good performance, winning a lot of matches, and when we have that, that’s a bonus._
_“I’m really happy with the squad that we have, and the main focus is to improve the players we already have, as we already have a lot of good things._
_“When I look at squads, some clubs still have incredible and much bigger squads than us. We just look to improve and do what’s right for us, and look at players we already have who can improve us. Ezri is certainly a player we really liked in the defensive line._
_“We expect \[Bruno\] not to be out for weeks. Let’s see how he evolves- he wanted to carry on. That’s when you start to understand the character of the player, but I don’t expect that to be a big issue.”_
